Chantal is a very determined young woman who strove to complete her Bachelor’s Degree without putting any financial strain on her mother. Education is very important to her family, which includes a number of pioneers in the field. For example, her grandmother, Dorothy Raymond, was the first female president of the Jamaica Teacher’s Association Credit Union. While remaining focused on her studies Chantal has also been very active in her university. She dances, was a member of the Caribbean Students Association and the Black Students Union. She was also a counselor in the Boys and Girls Club where she helped run the programme for at-risk kids.
Chantal and Miss Jamaica World: A determination to make a mark using every avenue is what drove Chantal to enter the pageant. She would like to use the title as a platform to work on issues that are important to her, specifically the welfare of abused women and children
