MJW.com: Sara, firstly congratulations from MissJamaicaWorld.com. Sara: Thank you very much
MJW.com: Sara, how did you feel going into the competition tonight? Sara: I actually felt quite peaceful, knowing that God has a plan for me whatever the outcome. The nerves were there, but God’s presence calmed me.
MJW.com: What went through your head when they called your name as Miss Jamaica World 2006? Sara: I kept on saying “Thank you God, Thank you God.” It was such a surreal experience it felt like a dream.
MJW.com: You received a lot of support from the crowd during the show. How did that make you feel? Sara: I was so appreciative of it especially since it kept building as the show progressed and I realized that it was no longer just my family and friends.
MJW.com: Any plans yet as about your reign? Sara: I am taking a year off from my studies to commit myself fully to my reign. I have just completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and will enter Medical School in September 2007. I plan to be an ever-present Miss Jamaica World, available to fulfill my responsibilities to the national community.
MJW.com: Are there any specific areas that you plan to work in this year? Sara: I have been participating in Outreach programmes through my church for many years, so I plan to use that means to aid “inner-city” youth.
MJW.com: Terri-Karelle Griffith, Miss Jamaica World 2005, was very close to the contestants throughout the pageant. What is your relationship with her? Sara: Terri is a wonderful person. She has been an inspiration to all the contestants and we appreciated her always being present to give advice and support.
MJW.com: How do you feel about going to the Miss World pageant? Sara: I am taking this very seriously: I am going to give it my all and represent Jamaica to the best of my ability.
MissJamaicaWorld.com congratulations Sara and wishes her the best for the time of her reign.
