Globe-trotting Kamila has travelled to Norway, Denmark, Sweden, England, Switzerland, France, Poland, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, USA, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and South Africa. This Jamaican ambassador also speaks Spanish, French, Norwegian and Swahili.
She attended the United World Colleges in Norway and Stanford University in California, USA, on full scholarships, where she obtained a bachelor of arts degree with honours in communications with a minor in French and Spanish.
Her passion for dance, music and theatre was honed from an early age through her involvement in the Jamaica Junior Musical Theatre and the Jamaica School of Dance. As a member of Marcia Lumsden Ashley's musical group, Rainbow Rhythms, she learnt to play the piano, guitar, drums, xylophone and steel pans. Kamila is also a holder of a gold medal for a solo dance piece in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Festival of the Performing Arts competition.
Her life's ambition is to use the power of music and media to counteract negativity and offer more positive and inspirational messages and products in entertainment and social commentary.
Kamila says she would most like to meet Oprah Winfrey because she evokes positive change and influences millions worldwide. On a personal level, Kamila is known to be a dynamic and visionary mobiliser and manager of people, inspiring ideas and activities.
