The journey has started once again to select the Miss Jamaica World Queen. Spartan Health Club, franchise holder of Miss Jamaica World Pageant and their team of expert judges, recently selected 18 finalists from a field of over 70 contestants at a privately held elimination show. The Miss Jamaica World finalists made their first public appearance, wearing fashions from Neahlis Boutique and Port Royal Fashions Resort and Casual Wear with swimsuits by Mushrooms, in front of a large enthusiastic audience at the Sovereign Center on Saturday July 18, 2008 where they were randomly assigned to sponsors:

One of the 18 finalists will walk away with the prestigious title of Miss Jamaica World 2009, and will become a Goodwill ambassador for Jamaica; she will also have the honor of representing Jamaica later this year in South Africa for the Miss World crown
The much anticipated Miss Jamaica World 2009 crowning will take place on Saturday August 22, 2009 at the Pegasus Hotel and will be attended by government officials, sponsors, celebrities, entertainment personalities, well wishers and the media.
